Networking

Intended as networking events for the larger MIT International Development community, the following Institute-wide events spotlight and celebrate the many approaches, aspects and faces of international development at MIT.

international development fair

The annual International Development Fair is held each year in late September or early October and provides incoming and continuing MIT students, recent graduates and members of the MIT community an opportunity to learn about ways that they can become engaged in international development through student groups, academic course offerings and other activities on and around MIT's campus. Groups and organizations of all types set up booths to display their development projects and enlist the interested individuals who pass through the fair grounds.

The 9th Annual International Development Fair will be held on Friday, September 24th from 1 – 3 pm on Student Street/Stata Center. Come see more than 50 student groups and spinoffs, departments, labs, centers and others who are working all over the world.

IDNight at the mit museum

Held annually in the spring, in conjunction with the Harvard International Development Conference (IDC), this combination reception/exposition showcases the latest international innovations emerging across the Institute. Bringing together a diverse audience to share ideas and learn about MIT international development technologies and projects, the evening is a networking opportunity that promotes social awareness about pressing global issues such as poverty, public health, education, and mobility.

ID Night @ MIT is a unique opportunity for MIT students to present their projects to a wide range of audiences. Each year the event draws over 400 attendees, including a large number of Harvard and MIT students, local scientists and engineers.

projects showcase

Each year, at the end of the fall and spring semesters students from the D-lab family of classes, recent IDEAS winners, and technology dissemination fellows present their work, including working demos. It is an opportunity to see how MIT students are developing technologies that make an impact on our world!
